Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Work at the FWC is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.


Required Experience:

  • Verifiable experience in Florida State Personnel System Human Resources Management.
  • Advanced knowledge of the State of Florida Classification and Compensation program, including but not limited to position reclassifications, organizational changes, and position descriptions.
  • A minimum of 2 years of current work experience related to Classification and Compensation.

Preferred Experience:

  • State of Florida Human Resources experience related to Classification and Compensation
  • Human Resources experience related to Recruitment and Selection
  • Human Resources experience related to Reemployment Compensation
  • Experience with People First Org Management
  • Experience with maintaining Agency organizational charts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the Director of Human Resources. Specifically, the duties include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as subject matter expert on SOF Classification and Compensation Program
  • Update and maintain Agency Organizational charts using Vizio Software.
  • Update and maintain agency Position Descriptions (PD's), process and review all agency position reclassifications, assist agency staff and HR liaisons with updating and completing PD’s, review new Position Descriptions for accuracy,
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Management Services (DMS) and OPB policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reorganization documentation for DMS and OPB as needed.
  • Annual collection and reporting of agency perquisite information to DMS.
  • Review of dual employment and outside employment requests to ensure compliance with statutes, ethics and federal law (FLSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in researching, analyzing and interpreting Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code and federal law governing HR matters.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of People First
  • Knowledge of Administrative Code 60L, Chapter 20.331, 110, 112, FL Statutes,
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service, verbally and in writing, to a diverse mix of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite, Sharepoint, and Vizio (or similar Org Chart software)
