A high school diploma or its equivalent.


Requires possession of a valid driver license.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


Occasional to moderate travel required.


Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.


JOB DUTIES:


  • Coordinate with the Bear Creek Senior Forester to conduct interpretive programs on natural and cultural resources of the state forest, area or site.
  • Assists in prescribed burns and other resource management projects.
  • Monitor, clear and maintain both hiking, biking and horseback riding trail.
  • Conducts guided tours and walks.
  • Cleans and maintains state forest facilities, grounds and vehicles.
  • Performs carpentry, electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Prepares reports of receipts, visitor contacts, accidents and equipment use.
  • Relocates, controls and/or removes exotic plants and animals.
  • Provides public information and assistance.
  • Resolves complaints from public.
  • Patrols state forest to prevent wildfires, vandalism and theft and enforces state park rules and regulations.
  • Performs related work as required.
