Records Technician
Department of Children and Families New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida Open Competitive
Current Employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF Salary Policy.
Saturday – Tuesday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (Weekend Incentive)


What you will do:



In this position, you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports
received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally, you will follow up with the appropriate
supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.


How you will make an impact:


  • Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from
other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information System
(FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN).
  • Review appropriate databases for previous or open investigations and child family involvement
with other family safety programs.
  • Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit
  • Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child
Abuse Hotline. *Case is then assigned in CCWIS (Florida Comprehensive Child Welfare Information
System) and CPI is notified. This same procedure is followed for any OTI request that is received.
  • Assign cases to CPI or CPI Supervisor
  • Package investigation information and conduct diligent searches
  • Archive case files and maintain rotation and case logs


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Two years of clerical experience preferred
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays

  • Some agency positions may require successful completion of pre-interview

  • Ability to speak/read/write Spanish or other foreign language may be considered in the selection
process as determined by the Agency need at the time of interview.
