Compensation: $56,118.40 annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

This position serves as the Audit Manager (Auditor III) on complex or more involved projects and oversees the work for the unit and is responsible for coordinating the audits from the planning phase through field work to the reporting phase of the audit. The individual in this position may work on performance, financial and compliance audits and special projects as assigned by their supervisor. This position serves as the lead on highly complex or more involved projects and is responsible for planning the project, coordinating and analyzing data collected by an audit team during field work and preparing the audit report submitted to their manager for review. The report that is prepared must be supported by work papers and accurately reflects any findings made during the audit. This position will also be responsible for reviewing the audit file for compliance with all applicable standards during the audit and upon its completion. In addition, individuals in this position will supervising, mentoring and developing other audit staff.

Qualifications
Education: *Transcript copies required with application (if educational requirements are listed for this position).* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Accounting/Auditing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. If not a degree in accounting, must have a minimum of 12-15 hours of Accounting Courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in examining internal work processes, financial and operational records and controls to assess effectiveness, accuracy of records and compliance with statutes, regulations and professional/legal standards. Education in accounting/auditing, business administration, or economics may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
  • Five years’ experience in Auditing or Program Evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited school in Accounting/Auditing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. If not a Degree in Accounting, must have a minimum of 12-15 hours of Accounting Courses.

  • Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
