Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position (K0210524) Direct the administration of financial accounting and reporting for all 319 grants on a routine basis and provide primary support for data entry into the 319 grant reporting system as required by the EPA. Create, administer and maintain a records database to track other Section program documents including Source Water Protection Plans, County Environmental Code Revisions, and grant final reports. Administer the review process for environmental code revisions in cooperation with the LEPP program manager.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare grant agreements and amendments in consultation with KDHE Program Staff and project cooperators for 319/WRAPS. Distribute and track agreements to ensure that all necessary procedures are completed in a timely manner. Prepare and distribute grant award letters for Program Managers and Section Chief. Maintain and update project cooperator contact information. Set up project folders for all grant agreements and work with program staff on a routine basis to ensure folders are kept current. Review and analyze grant routing operations to assist and advise program managers and Section chief on improvements to grant management tools to increase operational efficiency and use total quality management to practices to design solutions to operational problems.
Provide administrative support for general office operations. Provide back-up phone coverage for the Section and BEFS as needed. Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and other documents as needed by program staff. Provide testing and back-up administrative duties for the Kansas Clean Water grant management system including customer assistance. Make meeting arrangements and preparations as requested by Section Chief and other program staff.

Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Six months of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency

Preferred Qualifications:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
- Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
- One year experience in financial tracking, program budgeting and/or federal budget policy
- Experience with federal and state funding policies
- Agency policy experience
- Accounting experience
