The State of New Hampshire, Human Rights Commission has a part-time vacancy for an Anti-Discrimination Intake Coordinator.
Summary :
Researches and reviews state and federal anti-discrimination laws and coordinates the intake process for allegations of discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations received by the Human Rights Commission. Conducts the initial review of new submittals to include conducing informal fact-finding conferences and preliminary investigations in order to assign cases for review appropriately.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS : Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience : Three years of professional of paraprofessional experience in fair employment practices, social work, pre-law, human resources, or a related field, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS : Some knowledge of federal and state laws or regulations governing the program to which assigned, and of federal and community resources and organizations. Knowledge of research and planning methods and techniques. Ability to write technical information. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to understand and interpret the functional interrelationship of policy, regulations and procedures and to evaluate the impact on programs. Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes and to create and develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgment in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions and setting priorities. Ability to work independently to develop new or alternative approaches to meet changing and variable conditions. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
