The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Title and Anti-Theft has a full time vacancy for Supervisor III (43-1010 SUPS OFC-ADMIN SUPP-4), which has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered non-exempt.
Summary: Supervise and oversee the operations of the Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Title & Anti-Theft, customer counter(s), work stations and work areas, in maintaining excellent customer service and accurate and current motor vehicle records and files, assisting the Administrator of the Bureau of Title & Anti-Theft, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in business administration, management, business management or related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
EXPERIENCE: Four years' experience in customer service, retail, banking, plus three years of supervisory experience in customer service. If related to the program area, the supervisory experience will count as part of the four years' total experience. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
Selected candidate will be required to attend and successfully complete an intensive multi-week training program of classroom and on the job training, with weekly evaluations to ensure compatibility, suitability and ability to learn the complex motor vehicle systems, computer systems, processes, procedures, forms and transactions, while providing first rate customer service in an expedient, timely, accurate and polite manner in a high volume customer service area, office or workstation. Continued employment is contingent upon successfully completing all aspects of the training program within the first six months of employment.
May be required to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to, early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. Maybe required to travel throughout the State and work at various satellite offices for periods of time.
Responsibilities:
Assist with supervising the Bureau of Title & Anti-Theft with responsibility for the evaluation and correcting of employee work performance. Oversee and assist with supervising the operations of the examining employees, clerical employees, customer service employees and telephone staff.
Exercise direct supervision over subordinate employees ensuring that all employees are providing expedient, accurate, first rate customer service. Assists with hiring, training and personnel issues. Makes recommendations to the Administrator of Title & Anti-Theft and/or management on personnel, administrative and operational issues. Assists with title issuance training classes for partners of the DMV including dealers, agents of the State and other authorized agents.
Review and revise work methods and procedures to maintain excellent customer service. Assist with training employees as required on current and new processes, procedures, software and hardware. Ensures that all trainers are fully trained to conduct classes on all aspects of title issuance.
Ensure that all areas are staffed adequately and that an excellent level of customer service is being maintained including the training classes being provided by the Bureau. Provides assistance to the Bureau of Operations as required.
May perform all duties of the classification of Supervisor of Cash Terminal Operations, Cash Terminal Operator I, Title Examiner, Clerk IV and Clerk III.
Assist with preparing reports, evaluating programs, statistical data, employee performance as well as facilities. Recommends changes which may be statutory, or changes / modifications in policies, procedures and methods. Stay current on national data bases including the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) pertaining to title and anti-theft.
Ensure that all funds are accounted for on a daily basis and are properly deposited in the vault. Assist with fraud deterrence and detection system to ensure that all documents and fees are processed and documented in an accurate and precise manner.
Ensure that all personnel maintain a secure and confidential area and to release MV information and records to certified individuals or organizations in accordance with the Privacy Act and Division policies.
Recommends employee leave and completes employee performance evaluations. Maintains employee leave requests ensuring that leave balances are adequate and that there is adequate coverage, prior to recommending employee leave.
Answers questions at the customer counter and on the telephone, regarding motor vehicle laws and rules, consistent with the Privacy Act. Required to attend meetings, hearings, seminars and training classes both at the DMV and at locations throughout the State. Performs other DMV duties as assigned.
