The Information Security Analyst position focuses on a broad range of information security activities such as developing policy and procedure documents, assessing campus cybersecurity maturity and managing the provision of cybersecurity services.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Create reports and presentations on security metrics, risk assessments, and vendor risk management activities
- Manage cybersecurity programs focused on assisting campuses.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify IT-related processes and problems and to identify options for reducing cybersecurity risk.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards and best practices, including NIST 800-171 and other related information security standards
Required Qualifications:

- Master's degree and two years of experience in information security, transparency reporting, audit, policy analysis, or another similar domain in a government, corporate, or higher education environment.
- Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in information security, transparency reporting, audit, policy analysis, or another similar domain in a government, corporate, or higher education environment.
- Experience performing cybersecurity risk assessments, developing security policies and procedures, or analyzing data and programs for security risks.
- Experience in security operations, including incident response, threat hunting, security monitoring, or security tool administration.
- Knowledge of network and systems security, including firewalls, endpoint detection and response tools, and vulnerability management tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GLBA, HIPAA, and PCI.
- Professional certifications related to cybersecurity, networking, privacy, or governance, risk, and compliance.
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $75,000-$90,000.
- Some business travel may be required. Some work outside of normal business hours may be required.
- State Title: Lead Programmer-Analyst (SL-3) and is in the United University Professions Bargaining Unit.
