As a Tableau Server Administrator, you will take ownership of managing and maintaining Tableau Server environments for SUNY System Administration. This includes configuring the server, optimizing its performance, managing user permissions, and supporting stakeholders with seamless data integration and dashboard deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Administration: Oversee and maintain Tableau Server environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- User Management: Configure user access, permissions, and groups while maintaining security best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and troubleshoot server issues, applying updates and patches as necessary.
- Dashboard Support: Collaborate with teams to deploy, test, and maintain dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
- Data Integration: Maintain robust data connections between Tableau Server and Oracle or other database systems.
- Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain server documentation and provide training for new users and employees.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with security standards for data visualization and server management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Proven experience with Tableau Server administration or a similar analytics platform.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, server management, and network technologies.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Proficiency with productivity tools like Teams, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Tableau Server administration.
- Experience managing Oracle database connections, and other enterprise-level data integrations.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to enhance server operations.
- Familiarity with data security protocols and compliance standards.
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $75,000-$85,000.

- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
