The Tableau Analyst will work as part of a team to design, maintain, and support Tableau dashboards and associated infrastructure for SUNY System Administration. This includes creating dashboards, maintaining server environments, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and usability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create Tableau dashboards for various individuals and groups.
- Support and maintain existing dashboards and infrastructure.
- Add and remove users from the Tableau server and individual sites.
- Manage user permissions and groups.
- Assist with security testing for sensitive dashboards.
- Maintain data connections between the Tableau server and Oracle databases.
- Troubleshoot user concerns and issues.
- Assist in building server documentation and training materials for new users/employees.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Background in Tableau or an equivalent program (e.g., Oracle).
- Comfort communicating and collaborating in a team-oriented, potential hybrid work environment.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate initiative in seeking out new information.
- Strong notetaking and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure, including computing platforms and network technologies.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Uncompromising ethics and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with productivity platforms and software (e.g., Teams, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with server operations.
- Familiarity with Tableau Server administration.
- Experience with Oracle database connections and management.
- Knowledge of security best practices for data visualization tools.
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $60,000-$73,000.
- State Title: Lead Programmer-Analyst (SL-3)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
