Job Summary

The Design-Build Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating design-build projects from inception to completion. This role involves working closely with sales, estimating, installation, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will be skilled in project management, communication, and collaboration, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects that meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design-build project workflows, ensuring timely execution and quality outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards for project documentation, including design drawings, estimates, and specifications.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure projects meet specifications and company standards.
  • Organize and lead team meetings to prioritize projects, track progress, and establish deadlines.
  • Monitor team performance and provide support to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and review design documents, contracts, and construction details.
  • Support administrative tasks related to project billing and reporting.
  • Travel as needed to conduct site visits, meet with clients, and oversee installations.
  • Assist in strategic planning for team growth, resource allocation, and process improvements.
  • Foster collaboration among team members and ensure alignment with company goals.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in architectural drawing, CAD software, and design visualization tools.
  • Strong understanding of material estimating, labor costs, and project budgeting.
  • Ability to develop and review contracts, design specifications, and construction documents.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and general computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to leadership.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Office setting with collaborative workspaces and access to design tools.
  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Capacity to navigate project sites, conduct field assessments, and engage in hands-on project oversight.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional licensure or certification is beneficial but not required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in design-build project management or a related field.
  • Experience in landscape architecture, construction, or project planning is advantageous.
