What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Charge Bookkeeper position at The Sterling Group?
Small office conveniently located in the Deerwood/Southside area seeks experienced part- or full-time bookkeeper. The ideal candidate is highly organized with at least 5 years of experience.
Must be proficient in Quickbooks with excellent attention to detail. As a small office, the atmosphere is a bit laid-back and can be quite jovial and relaxed at times, but stay very busy year-round. We are looking for someone who would like to build a career within a strong and stable 25-year-old company.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and recording expenses, ensuring they are correctly categorized and accounted for.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Recording financial transactions in QuickBooks Online, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconciling accounts and financial statements and creating reports.
- Coordinating bank deposits and reporting daily income/financial results.
- Assisting with tax payments, returns, and year end statements, working with accountant when necessary.
- Answering and directing phone calls, taking messages when necessary.
- Processing payroll and tracking payroll data.
- Develop and maintain a filing system for important documents.
Qualifications:
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Data Entry
- Must be detail oriented, thorough, and organized
- Must be proficient in Quickbooks and Excel
- Previous bookkeeping experience (5-10 years preferred)
- Able to prepare, review, and understand financial statements
- Confidentiality
- Work collaboratively
