Adapted Recreation Coach
$10.17/hour
The most important responsibility as an Adapted Recreation Coach is building relationships with the athletes and
participants in our Adapted Recreation programs. Whether you are coaching athletes in a Special Olympic sport, or
assisting at an Adapted Recreation social event, your goal is to create a fun and safe environment and build
participants’ self-esteem. Coaching is done in accordance with the Adapted Recreation and Special Olympic
philosophy that everyone is a winner. Typical schedule for this position would be weekdays from 3:00 p.m. - 5:45
p.m., with some weekends as needed for special events. Multiple shifts and positions available.
Qualifications:
Adapted Recreation knowledge and experience are
required.
Must have previous experience coaching Special
Olympic sports.
Must possess a passion for working with individuals
with physical and/or developmental challenges, and
strong relationship-building skills.
Ability to effectively present information and respond
to inquiries at an individual or small group level.
