Care is provided at Stevens Point public schools before and after school for children grades K-6. As a School Age
Assistant Teacher, your role is to facilitate the daily curriculum activities, ensuring that the individual interests,
needs, and safety of all children are met. Typical work schedules during the school year are Monday - Friday, from
6:25AM - 8:30AM, and 3:00PM - 5:45PM. You will also have the opportunity to work in our full-day school-age care
programs held at the Y during the year when school is not in session.

School Age Child Care Assistant Teacher
$12/hour
Qualifications:
Must meet the qualifications for Assistant Teacher under DCF 251
Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.
You must have experience working in programs for children age 5
– 12 years.
Most important, you must enjoy spending time with groups of
school-age children, and have an understanding of their
behaviors and group dynamics.
High energy levels, patience, creativity, problem-solving skills,
strong communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work
independently or as part of a team.
You must exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility,
honesty and caring.
Prior to work, all staff will be required to provide a Physician-
signed health examination and complete a fingerprint
background check.
