This 12-month, full-time leadership position offers the opportunity to shape a vibrant, Christ-centered experience for students in grades 7-12. Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership:
- Serve as a spiritual role model, integrating Biblical principles into athletic programs and guiding student-athletes in their faith journey.
- Lead devotions for coaches and offer spiritual support to students, faculty, and staff.
- Uphold Christian values across all athletic events and ensure a Christ-centered worldview is reflected.
Program Leadership:
- Lead the department with a focus on growth, excellence, and holistic development for student-athletes.
- Oversee the athletic calendar, including scheduling, event execution, and communication with all stakeholders.
- Work with coaches and the sports chaplain to ensure that value-based standards are set and upheld on all teams and during athletic events.
- Communicate the department's vision effectively to coaches, staff, and the broader school community.
Department Management:
- Ensure compliance with league rules and navigate complex scheduling issues.
- Plan and execute athletic events that foster school spirit and community engagement.
- Maximize departmental resources, balancing financial and operational constraints to achieve excellence.
- Manage risk factors and safety concerns related to athletic activities.
Talent Management:
- Recruit, evaluate, and retain top coaching talent to align with the school's vision.
- Provide mentorship to coaching staff, fostering professional development and a culture of excellence.
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and values.
Communication & Community Engagement:
- Effectively communicate department goals, events, and updates to inspire confidence across the school community.
- Build positive relationships with parents, students, faculty, and staff, ensuring open communication.
- Represent the school at external athletic events and scheduling meetings as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Committed believer in Jesus Christ with a vibrant, integrated faith.
- Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field; master's degree of advanced certifications preferred.
- 5 years of experience in teaching or coaching, with 2 years in athletic administration.
- Proven ability to develop and implement athletic programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of athletic laws and regulations and ability to ensure compliance.
- Excellent public relations and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, administrative, and multitasking skills.
- Growth-oriented with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset to enhance and expand athletic programs.
- Skilled collaborator, working effectively across departments and with various stakeholders.
- Ability to recruit, evaluate, and retain top coaching talent.
- Flexible schedule, with willingness to travel for athletic events and meetings.
- Fundraising experience is a plus but not required.
