What are the responsibilities and job description for the CASINO HOST position at The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)?
Summary: At the assigned levels, generates quality casino business, meets monthly signup goals, assists all guests, attracts and develops players, and ensures that their budgeted revenue and nonrevenue goals are met. Ensures compliance with company, departmental and gaming policies and regulations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Devotes significant time being visible and available on the casino floor in order to meet and greet guests during individual visits as well as during special events.
- Supports the True Rewards Players Club by creating new accounts and cards on the floor wherever guests may be located via handheld devices and or Temp Cards
- Make appropriate business decisions based on the limited complementary authority within the Casino Host position. These decisions are complimentary based on recorded play, earned points, comp availability and customer profitability.
- Actively develops and maintains guest loyalty and incremental visitation through personal contact such as on-property hosting, telemarketing, direct mail, and email using available amenities and promotional opportunities
- Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listens to and responds to guest concerns and questions.
- Initiates and implements strategies as directed by Player Development management to develop new players and increase return visits for mid-level casino guests to increase profits.
- Supports VIP Services by making room reservations, arrange for amenities, and limo arrangements as necessary for casino guests. Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e., comp slips, reservation request forms etc.). Greets guests upon arrival whenever possible.
- Initiates conversation with guests on the floor in a friendly and welcoming manner in order to introduce them to the property, explain the players club and its benefits and actively market the food and beverage outlets.
- Proactively reestablishes relationship with former VIP guest through various marketing programs.
- Maintains current knowledge of all events, promotions, and special functions.
- Develops and maintains an active player list within criteria guidelines established for casino hosts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years minimum customer service background required
- 2 years minimum casino experience preferred
- Working knowledge of general computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Previous computer experience with Synkros and LMS preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or other secondary education certification in related field preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
