What are the responsibilities and job description for the HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE position at The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)?
Summary:
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources department including but not limited to recruitment/employment, employee and labor relations, worker’s compensation, benefits, compensation, training and development, HRIS, compliance and shared services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls on multi-phone line
- Maintain and order all office supplies
- Service employees at the front counter as well as applicants applying for a job
- Receive incoming mail/fax and distributes them appropriately
- Print current and new employee ID badges
- Maintain Human Resources bulletin boards including job boards, birthday boards and announcement boards
- Ensure that the Human Resources forms are stocked at all locations
- Check the Human Resources drop box
- Maintain the termination log and termination checks
- Update name and address changes for terminated employees
- Process unemployment claims as needed
- Coordinate file storage and retrieval with off-site storage company
- Assist with employee events and recognition programs
- Assist employees with obtaining or renewing required work cards
- Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience in Human Resources within the gaming/hospitality industry preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate in small groups, as well as on an individual-basis
- Able to effectively organize materials, set priorities, and provide feedback or follow up
- Previous experience working in a team or group environment
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States
