Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This role is vital in delivering high-quality care in various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and memory care units. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with nursing staff to monitor patient conditions and provide empathetic support to individuals with diverse needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Support patients in mobility and transportation within the facility.
- Assist in the management of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status and any changes observed.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or as a Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and basic medical terminology is beneficial.
- Experience working with children or in pediatric settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and dementia care techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and report findings to nursing staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Must be able to lift and move patients safely as required.
