What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRO Buyer position at The Sunrider Corporation?
SUMMARY:
The MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operation) Buyer covers all the expense items and services needed to keep the facility running smoothly. It includes all the machinery parts, tools, office supplies, lab supplies, art supplies, printing supplies, janitorial supplies, cleaning supplies, safety supplies, museum supplies, lighting supplies, computer hardware/software/consulting equipment and vehicle lease, all the PM agreement, bottle water delivery, QC/R&D sample testing, forklift propane, DI water, different kinds of gas, chemicals, hazardous material disposal, gamma irradiation, cell phone, calibration services, vehicle repair and maintenance, AC services, tree trimming, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned as the company's needs dictate.
· Coordinates all activities related to procurement materials from purchase through delivery.
· Supports the R&D department to source new products and obtain samples.
· Maintains the R&D and Production departments informed of any current or potential supply problems or delays.
· Liaison between suppliers and QC to resolve any quality issues.
· Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
· Advises management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
· Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the materials balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
· Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
· Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
· Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate maintenance of records.
· Develops and maintains relationships with vendors.
· Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
· Interacts professionally with other employees, stakeholders, and suppliers.
· Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
· Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees/departments.
· Follows company safety policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively when representing the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Oracle.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
