Job Title: Group Facilitator – Primary Mental Health Residential Treatment Program
Position Overview:
The Group Facilitator is responsible for planning, leading, and managing therapeutic group sessions at a primary mental health residential treatment program. The facilitator works collaboratively with clinical staff to foster a safe and supportive environment where residents can explore personal growth, develop coping skills, and build a foundation for long-term mental health recovery.
Groups are between 10am-3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate structured and unstructured therapeutic group sessions, including psychoeducation, skills development, and process-oriented groups.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to align group content with individual treatment goals and program objectives.
- Promote active participation, ensuring each resident feels heard and supported within the group dynamic.
- Address group dynamics, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Monitor and document group progress, providing timely feedback to the clinical team.
- Stay informed about evidence-based practices and integrate them into group facilitation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field required.
- Previous experience in group facilitation or working in mental health settings.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mental health issues, trauma-informed care, and group facilitation techniques.
- Ability to foster trust, compassion, and inclusivity within a diverse population.
