What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapy Assistant in Child Development position at The Talcott Center for Child Development?
The Talcott Center for Child Development in Farmington has openings for part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants within our quickly growing Comprehensive Therapeutic Summer Program. Our Summer Program runs from June 17th - August 16th, 9 am- 3pm daily. Our Summer Program entails group-based interventions co-led with an SLPA to address a wide variety of skills including sensory processing, fine and gross motor, coordination, play skills, and emotional regulation.
Duties:
- Implement individualized treatment plan under the supervision of an OTR
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
- Daily documentation of OT group sessions
- Developing and implementing group based treatment
- Collaboration with the client's team
- Prepare program materials
- Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience: 1 year or Early Childhood Experience
- Education: Associates
- OTA certified within CT and through NBCOT
