# 1850 Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for establishing production standards by developing and maintaining quality control systems, as well as defining product compliance criteria.
This role supports the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), provides technical expertise, and collaborates closely with the operations team to maintain product and process quality.
You will investigate and troubleshoot hardware and assembly issues impacting product quality and on-time delivery, reviewing procedures, specifications, instructions, and equipment to ensure adherence to industry standards and customer expectations.
Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, determine the disposition of nonconforming materials, and support internal teams through quality review initiatives.
Maintain and report on key quality metrics to leadership, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as a liaison for customer quality-related inquiries when needed and lead internal audits of the Quality Management System. This includes documenting findings, recommending and tracking corrective/preventive actions, and ensuring resolution effectiveness.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Overseeing quality data collection and reliability analysis of materials, processes, and finished products.
- Managing root cause investigations for customer returns and coordinating corrective actions.
- Monitoring supplier performance through quality scorecards and approved supplier listings and following up on non-conformances and corrective action requests.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of customer quality requirements with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, AS9102, ISO).
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Comfortable collaborating across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Solid organizational, planning, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Bachelor s degree preferred, or 3 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with contract review is a plus.
