Overview

Summary:

 

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, implementation and supervision of the project quality control plan. The Quality Control Manager ensures that personnel follow approved procedures/directives pertaining to maintenance and safety during the performance of alterations, repair, preventive maintenance, service calls and other services as deemed necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees and coordinates the planning, implementation and supervision of the project quality control plan.• Responsible for ensuring that the procedures, technical manuals, and contractual requirements are complied with when performing inspections, configuration changes, alterations, testing and refurbishment operations.• Performs inspections and audits on preventive maintenance processes, services calls, and maintenance repairs.• Ensures, through various audits, inspections, tests and measurement, that shop personnel follow approved maintenance procedures and directives when performing repairs to equipment, service calls, alterations and maintenance repairs.• Ensures that equipment configurations are returned to normal operational readiness and that overall system performance is satisfactory.• Ensures that corrective action requirements are established and maintained for problem reporting and problem recurrence.• Ensures personnel performing assigned tasks are qualified and certified as required.• Establishes trend analysis data for process monitoring and problem reporting.• Performs quality assurance audits. • Provides written technical reports to higher level management concerning all processing and procedure deficiencies, technical problems, and/or potential problems.• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Licensure:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least five (5) years recent responsible experience as a Quality Control Manager.• Additional work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.• Active SECRET clearance preferred.• Thorough knowledge of quality assurance principles, which include planning, programs review, personnel certification and qualification, corrective action and follow-up actions, audits, product quality, acceptance criteria, test and inspection operations, documentation control, maintenance operations, configuration control, trend analysis development and monitoring, deficiency reporting and tracking.• Thorough knowledge of procedures/directives pertaining to maintenance and safety during the performance of alterations, maintenance repair, preventive maintenance and services. • Demonstrated strong time management, planning and project management skills.• Proven ability to interface with all levels of an organization.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Work Environment

This position is subjected to high level noises, fumes from solvents and soil from grease.

 

Physical Requirements

Essential functions require light to moderate physical exertion in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 50 pounds with occasional lifting over 50 pounds with assistance. The position requires long periods of standing, stooping, climbing and working in areas of operating equipment. Work shall be performed throughout the buildings and some outside work may be required.

Work Authorization/Security ClearanceDoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

 

Additional Qualifying Factors: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
