Tennis, Pickleball and Pro Shop Attendant

Job Summary:

The tennis/ pickle ball pro shop attendant requires an outgoing, positive attitude, organized, and customer service oriented individual. He/She is responsible for assisting in the Tennis Pro Shop with the promotion of the programs to prospective members, sale of pro shop items, collection of fees, filling in occasionally for tennis and pickleball games, processing of membership forms, scheduling court times, assisting in matchmaking, and ball machine rentals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in all club functions (tournaments, tennis socials, etc.)

· Greets prospective members, makes them feel welcome and provides a tour of the racquets and pool facility as well as a brief overview and explanation of our programming and services.

· Provide information about services, pricing, events, and pro-shop merchandise.

· Use a computer to schedule lessons and check in players.

· Process membership, lessons, and merchandise purchases using a computerized billing system. Includes computing prices, processing credit payment and providing customers with proper sales receipt.

· Ensure accurate records of sales transactions and /or refunds in accordance with department procedures.

· Provide member-level communications in the form of Newsletters, events, special programs and related documents to promote and share necessary information.

· Willingness to assist with all club-related marketing and communication projects.

· Keep equipment and products neat and orderly.

· Informs supervisor of maintenance and inventory needs.

· Responsible for minimal court maintenance and cleaning including, sweeping/lining, keep walkways and waiting areas free of trash and debris.

· Follows department policies to ensure a safe, neat, and clean environment

· Assist with displaying tennis shop merchandise

· Answers questions from customers regarding merchandise for sale, tennis, pickleball, and available playing time.

· Assists with receiving, unpacking, and pricing merchandise.

· Assists with taking inventory, inventory control, and sales records.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Conducts regular daily checks of the pool facility and maintains a sign in sheet for members using the pool facilities.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Fold face and pool towels

· Collect and put out dirty towels.

· Put out cushions and bring them back in.

Essential Skills Required:

· Excellent customer service skills

· Knowledge of tennis/pickleball rules, equipment, stringing and court maintenance

· Excellent computer skills (multiple software programs involved)

· Willing to work flexible hours with a rotating schedule

· Walk and or stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally and lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.

· Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90.
