We are looking for a meticulous Franchise Bookkeeper to oversee the financial records of multiple franchise locations. The ideal candidate has a solid background in bookkeeping and accounting, ensuring precise financial reporting, compliance with franchise guidelines, and effective cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple franchise locations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Process and record daily financial transactions with proper classification and documentation.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements).
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit franchise royalty and marketing fund reports to corporate headquarters.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for individual franchise locations.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including accurate deductions and timely payments.
- Ensure adherence to franchise agreements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Provide financial insights to franchise owners to help optimize profitability and control expenses.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for tax filings and financial reviews.
- Implement and maintain best practices in bookkeeping, including digital recordkeeping and the use of accounting software.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a franchise or multi-location business environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Macros, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with franchise owners and corporate teams.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling franchise financial reporting and royalty fee calculations.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and multi-state tax compliance.
