We are looking for a Construction Materials Testing Manager to lead and grow our Canton, Ohio, office. If you are a highly motivated team player that thrives in a fast-paced work environment and looks at tasks with a “can-do” attitude, then check out the job duties below.
In this role, you will be asked to:
- Train and schedule inspection and testing staff across a variety of markets.
- Prepare and write proposals for material testing and inspection services.
- Perform project manager duties for requested services (scheduling and coordination, report review, invoice, and budget review, etc.)
- Read and review testing and inspection reports for quality and correctness.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the client and/or project manager.
- Perform roles in the field and lab as necessary to support growth and maintain services.
- Occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions is required.
- Performs roles as necessary to support the regional managers in successful operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Geology is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of construction or materials testing experience.
- Experience managing construction or inspection staff and/or a materials testing laboratory is preferred.
- Have, or possess experience obtaining ODOT Certifications and/or other specialty testing certifications.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications and familiarity with NC specific requirements.
- Some business development experience is preferred but not required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Good communication and time managements skills are required.
- Possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
