What are the responsibilities and job description for the Escrow Assistant position at The Title Team?
The Title Team is expanding our team and has an exciting opportunity for a full time, organized, detail-oriented Escrow Assistant in Dickinson, ND.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review the title commitment to make sure the owner of record is in fact the seller or borrower of the property, work to clear any conditions that are shown as a requirement on the title commitment such as order payoffs, request releases to be filed, and order documentation required clear title.
- Schedule closings and communicate with lenders, realtors, buyers and sellers to ensure a smooth closing.
- Disburse files after closing. Verify that all funds required have been received and distribute any funds that were collected on the Settlement Statement. Double check the documents to make sure that the documents are not missing signatures, dates or notary acknowledgements. Double check that any documents needing to be recorded are in recordable format. Prepare the lender’s package to be sent back with any certified copies required. Scan the final package.
- Answer and direct phone calls, receiving and processing incoming customer orders and reviewing them for accuracy.
- Search and obtain tax and special assessment information from various cities and counties.
- Search and examine various name searches for Judgments, State and Federal Tax Liens, Bankruptcy, and Child Support Liens.
- Photocopy, scan and fax documents.
- Assist customers whom request information. Assist with overflow work as requested by management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is desired
- High School Diploma, and equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An acceptable background and credit check is required for this position.
