Role & Responsibilities
Build your portfolio and get creative at one of the top zoos in the country! The graphic design intern will be guided by the creative team and report to the Director of Visual Communications. This position will be responsible for a range of projects including print, digital, illustration and production. Intern will assist in creating high-quality, visual content and be fully involved in the creative process through production. Projects created through this position will have the opportunity to be featured on Zoo grounds, social media platforms and toledozoo.org. This role will assist in visually supporting and enhancing our mission: Enjoy. Inspire. Educate. Act.
Requirements
Flexible Schedule: Monday - Friday in office between 8 am - 5 pm.
20-28 Hours per Week

Requirements
- Completed at least one year in a graphic design or visual communications design undergraduate program
- Submit a resume and portfolio of projects from college courses or previous internship programs
- Proficient in an iMac environment, Adobe Creative Suite and Office 365
- Understands layout, typography, hierarchy and adhering to brand standards
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent organization skills with digital filing systems
- Works well with a team and with others across multiple departments
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Resume and portfolio builder
- College course credit (if applicable)
- Paid experience
- Opportunity to learn HTML, CSS, Javascript
- Available for a minimum of 20 hrs/week
- September 2023 – April 2024
- Flexible hours (in office only) Monday - Friday
