Key Responsibilities
The Simulation Engineer will perform computational simulations and provide design guidance for mechanical and electronic products to meet EMC regulatory requirements.
They will work with new production development teams to recommend changes in methods, design, or equipment.
Partner with product development teams to identify opportunities to apply simulation methods early in the development cycle.
Develop simulation plans to improve or optimize the design based on performance or durability specifications.
Use commercial software to execute simulations (including pre-processing, solving, and post-processing) to predict the behavior of the proposed designs.
Compile simulation results and participate in peer reviews.
Communicate results through generation of high-quality reports containing both scientific visualization, numerical data, and conclusions.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or closely related program.
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related program from a university with an ABET accredited undergraduate engineering program is desirable.
Experience in EMC testing, analysis, and/or simulation.
Demonstrated understanding of EMC design theory including detailed knowledge of shielding, filtering, grounding, bonding, cabling, waveguides, and printed circuit board design.
Good understanding of and experience using RF test equipment such as network analyzers, EMI receiver, etc.
Military RF experience would be a plus.
