SUMMARY: Responsible for facility management and operations of the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. Performs specialized recreational programming for the skatepark to include developing, planning, instructing, implementing and evaluation. Work includes recreation budget proposal and control, staff supervisory functions, and annual report summaries. Onsite supervision of Bayside Park at 3rd Street (east and west blocks) including, but not limited to, tennis/ & pickleball courts, basketball courts, playground, restrooms, open space, boardwalk, walkways, etc.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: •Manages Ocean Bowl Skate Park to include: program operation and supervision, routine maintenance of park facilities, answering phones, assisting public, cash accounting and deposit preparation, receipting and registering daily entrants, memberships and events, data entry, facility security, first aid administration, program set up and breakdown, administrator and decision-maker during operating hours.•Supervises Bayside Park facilities, east and west blocks, and communicates with appropriate City departments as necessary for park operation needs (e.g., Parks, Police, Special Events, R&P Admin. & Programs, etc.).•Hiring, training, and supervision of skatepark staff•Prepares budget requests; authorizes expenditures, and purchases supplies for Ocean Bowl and Bayside Park when applicable•Prepares annual report summaries for skate park operations•Stocks and maintains first aid supplies; performs minor first aid as needed•Oversees rental program park-wide •Maintains inventory of rental equipment and sales merchandise, park-wide, including skate, tennis, pickleball, basketball, yard games, etc.•Plans, coordinates and develops recreational activities at skate park to fill the needs of the community•Assists in the evaluation and improvement of programs and services•Inspects facilities on daily basis for maintenance needs•Assists in marketing and promoting of facility•Maintains and oversees use of basketball, and pickleball/tennis courts including the clearing, security, scheduling of court access and overall daily court conditions •Maintains and oversees use of restroom facilities, including clearing, securing, managing cleaning schedules with Public Works and Recreation Administration, and park-user safety. Responsible for second floor restroom daily cleaning and stocking•Acts as liaison to Parks division staff about maintenance and issues related to park; creates work orders •Monitors cameras park-wideSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises 2 – 5 employees at the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages. Ability to add; subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current CPR and Basic First Aid Certification.
