What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Line Technician III position at The Town of Tarboro?
Candidate must be able to perform advanced journeyman level work in the installation,
maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electric lines for the Town of Tarboro.
The following skills are required:
Working with energized primary and secondary voltages
Ability to climb wooden poles
Knowledge of standard electric line construction practices
Operate various equipment (bucket trucks, line trucks and trenchers)
Analyzing power problems and identifying solutions
Knowledge of safe work practices
In addition, but not limited to, have good interpersonal relation skills and be self-motivated. A
high school diploma supplemented with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a power line
technician is required. Candidate must have a good driving record and a Class A, North
Carolina Commercial Driver’s License. Candidate must live within 30 minutes from the
corporate limits of the town. Excellent benefits and starting salary is $54,244 annually
($26.08/per hour). Applications will be
