## Job Overview

The Town of Waynesville is seeking a dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will play a vital role in emergency response, providing critical care and assistance to those in need. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in , , , , , , and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure effective emergency services.

## Duties

- Respond promptly to fire and medical emergencies
- Perform firefighting duties including extinguishing fires, rescuing individuals, and protecting property
- Administer first aid and emergency medical care to individuals in distress
- Operate and maintain firefighting and medical equipment
- Conduct fire prevention inspections and educate the community on fire safety
- Collaborate with other emergency services personnel to ensure coordinated response efforts

## Experience

- Certification as an EMT-Basic or higher
- Completion of a Fire Academy or equivalent firefighting training program
- Experience in performing emergency medical procedures
- Proficiency in utilizing firefighting equipment and tools
- Strong physical fitness and ability to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
