We are currently seeking a full-time paralegal and/or legal assistant with 3 years of experience primarily in litigation matters to work in the Firm’s Albany office. Pay based on experience.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures. This role requires proficiency in legal case management software and research tools such as Lexis-Nexis. The Paralegal will assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings, ensuring that all necessary documentation is filed accurately and timely.
Duties
- Drafting and reviewing various pleadings and motions and discovery requests.
- Preparing cases for deposition and trial
- Professional interaction with clients.
- Reviewing and addressing court and attorney correspondence.
- Assist attorneys by organizing case files and managing case progress and deadlines.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status.
- Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and other materials needed for court proceedings.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
- Making sure all documents and correspondence are uploaded and filed in our case management system
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a legal environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Self-starter with the abilities to take direction, enhance cases, and run with projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of litigation processes and procedures is essential.
- A degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- A good understanding of both the New York’s Civil Practice Law and Rules and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) are strongly encouraged.
- Litigation experience is preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
