Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers Personal Insurance Boat & Yacht Team specializes in providing Boat & Yacht insurance coverages for our customers. This team plays a critical role in the achievement of financial objectives by contributing to the profitability and success of Travelers. As a Managing Account Executive, PI Marine, you will partner with agents, brokers, and consumers to provide coverages that meet customers' needs and leverage your technical underwriting and marketing expertise to independently develop business plans and agency/broker sales objectives that are aligned with Boat & Yacht financial objectives. You will focus on marketing and underwriting boat/yacht business and developing and maintaining effective relationships with agents and brokers. This position is a manager.What Will You Do?
- Manage the profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business for a state and/or region.
- Underwrite complex risks for new and renewal business to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
- Foster and maintain relationships with assigned agents and brokers by regularly meeting in person to market and sell Travelers products with goal to write and retain boat/yacht policies consistent with Travelers risk appetite.
- Assess agent/broker results against financial and business objectives. Collaborate closely with Claim partners to understand claim trends.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with Personal Insurance and Enterprise partners to develop new business and sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities. Execute agency new business and sales plans.
- Identify new business and retention opportunities by promoting Travelers products and services and utilizing consultative marketing and sales approaches. Prepares marketing and sales approaches and presents recommendations to leadership.
- Manage day to day activities of a team, provide coaching and develop staff to perform job responsibilities.
- May represent Travelers Boat/Yacht at Industry events or at internal underwriting and sales meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Five years of insurance marketing/sales or claim handling experience.
- Six or more years of personal insurance individual risk underwriting experience, preferably personal boat/yacht underwriting experience.
- Completion of or matriculation in CPCU, IIA, ARM, CIC or other recognized insurance designations.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of marine insurance (boat & yacht) products, underwriting, systems, coverages, distribution, compliance, regulatory environment and insurance financials.
- Understands financial drivers that impact insurance industry and specifically the boat/yacht business.
- Seeks out, builds, fosters and maintains productive relationships, networks or alliances to meet goals and achieve results.
- Advanced critical thinking skills to comprehend and communicate underwriting and marketing strategies, appetite and business plans.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.

- Four years of underwriting experience.
