The Trellis Center is a non-profit learning and community program for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We’re looking for a person who is deeply committed to our mission and is energized by building relationships with people of all abilities. This position requires organization, patience, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Assist the program managers in the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
- Help create, support, and lead differentiated activities which emphasizes empowerment, interdependence, and mutual respect throughout the center and community
- Help prepare and organize materials prior to each individual or group lesson
- Assist with activities of daily living. Promotes a safe environment with accountability, respect, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills
- Upbeat positive attitude
- Creative and self-motivated
- Experience working with people with disabilities is ideal but not required
- Clean driving record
Keep in Mind
- Much of your workday is spent outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter
- Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting 20 pounds or more
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
