POSITION SUMMARY
The Memory
Care Program Director is responsible for assisting in the development and
oversight of resident services, including planning and coordinating
opportunities for residents that promote a level of health, wellbeing,
engagement and growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting lifestyle
programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual
opportunities for the residents.
- Administers the department’s Interest Survey, Service Plan
and Progress Notes in accordance with applicable codes.
- Evaluates recreational programming on an ongoing basis
through surveys and communicates and has direct interaction with residents and
families.
- Attends community-planned functions and coordinates events
from beginning to end including setup, running, and breaking down for the event.
- Effectively utilizes Life Loop (or similar program) as the
primary resident and family/responsible party communication tool.
- Helps Plan appropriate programs for holidays and special
events.
- Assists and coordinates holiday decorations for the
community.
- Prepares and organizes a calendar of events. Submits the calendar to the Executive
Director for final approval. Posts and distributes the calendar.
- Arrange transportation for events.
- Distributes community newsletter. Meets with new residents
to introduce the program.
- Assists Director/Manager in leadership of wellness program.
- Organizes and helps manage volunteer staff.
- Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of
common interest.
- Maintains a database and prepares reports on resident
assessments, participation and satisfaction.
- Interacts with residents, guests, and staff in an atmosphere
of hospitality.
- Protects the privacy of the resident when communicating oral
and written information.
- Participate in dementia and Alzheimer's training.
- Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements and Experience:
• Minimum Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
• One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
