About Childress Hall :
Childress Hall is an exclusive private 36-hole links-style golf course with 1 accompanying 9-hole Par 3 course located in northwest Texas, just outside the town of Childress. The first course, designed by Tom Doak, was recently completed, and construction of the second golf course, designed by Gil Hanse, began this fall. The Club and courses will take full advantage of its location along the Prairie Dog Town Fork of The Red River on the western edge and the sand dunes on the eastern edge reminiscent of Scotland. Childress Hall will be a destination Club with 150 members with lodging and airport access 10 minutes from the Club.
Position Summary :
The Head Golf Course Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for all equipment repair and maintenance, including the repair and maintenance of turf equipment and vehicle fleets, parts fabrication, managing the shop facility, purchasing and leasing parts and equipment, and inventory. The Head Golf Course Equipment Mechanic will be a hands-on leader responsible for leading, developing, training, managing, overseeing, coaching, and motivating the equipment technicians.

Essential Responsibilities :
- Develop, manage, and assist in the preventive maintenance program of equipment, including accurate record keeping.
- Train and instruct the equipment technicians on the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all fleet equipment, including part fabrication.
- Perform, assist, or oversee parts fabrication, including any cutting, folding, casting, forging, machining, shearing, punching, stamping, or welding.
- Educate and ensure that all health, safety, and environmental regulations are known, understood, and practiced, including proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.
- Establish and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance schedules based on equipment requirements and course agronomic schedule.
- Establish and maintain records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, repairs, and costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
- Establish and maintain an organized, clean, and safe equipment facility.
- Performs daily course checks to ensure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.
- Prepare, recommend, and manage the equipment budget, monitor costs and expenditures, identify variances, and recommend and implement corrective action as necessary.
- Assists in the evaluation, selection, purchase / lease, and management of new turf equipment.
- Build positive and effective relationships with equipment and grounds staff, senior leadership, local vendors, and other technicians.
