PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Grants and Database Manager plays a vital role in advancing The Union for Contemporary Art's mission to inspire positive social change through the arts. This position focuses on securing essential funding, fostering impactful partnerships, and maintaining efficient data management. By excelling in grant writing, donor stewardship, and database expertise, the Grants and Database Manager helps strengthen The Union's ability to enrich the Greater Omaha community and drive meaningful change.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research and write grant applications, ensuring submission in required formats and adherence to deadlines.
2. Manage the entire grant lifecycle, including tracking progress, reporting, and stewarding relationships with funders.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align grant proposals with organizational goals and budgets.
4. Identify and pursue new grant opportunities to support operational, programmatic, and special project needs.
5. Provide detailed post-grant reports, showcasing the measurable impact of funding on programs and initiatives.
Database Proficiency _ 35 _ %
6. Serve as the organization’s expert on Blackbaud Altru, overseeing all database functionalities.
7. Maintain accurate and timely constituent records, income, and pledge tracking.
8. Manage ticketing, mailing lists, and program tracking to support fundraising initiatives.
9. Conduct data analysis to identify trends, inform fundraising strategies, and improve donor engagement.
10. Train and support staff in using the database effectively to ensure team alignment and efficiency.
Fundraising and Relationship Building _ 20 _ %
11. Support the stewardship of corporate and foundation donors, including engagement before and after contributions.
12. Lead fundraising campaigns, such as special events (e.g., galas, annual appeals, and membership events).
13. Foster meaningful relationships with stakeholders to enhance long-term engagement and loyalty.
14. Collaborate with the Development Director to develop innovative fundraising strategies and plans.
15. Explore and implement creative outreach efforts to diversify the organization’s funding sources.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Grants Database Managercurrently holds supervisory responsibilities over operations staff.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Executive Director authorizes all expenditures of funds based on proper documentation, contract compliance, and The Union disbursement procedures.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS and LICENSES
Valid Driver’s License and proof of adequate liability insurance coverage for personal vehicle required.
