Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Human Studies ( http : / / www.uab.edu / education / humanstudies / kinesiology ) is inviting applications from outstanding candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor in Exercise Science (9-month appointment). The individual selected for this position will have an emerging or established research agenda, teach courses in exercise science, pursue extramural funding to support program and research initiatives, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and serve on departmental and university committees. This position has an anticipated start date of August 2025.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in exercise physiology or a closely related field and must demonstrate an emerging or established record of research and excellence in teaching. A competitive start-up package, shared laboratory space, and core facilities ( https : / / www.norc.uab.edu / corefacilities ), ( https : / / www.uab.edu / medicine / exercise ) are available. Preference will be given to candidates whose research builds on existing strengths in the department.
The desired applicants will be able to work collaboratively within shared research space, and evidence of successful university teaching in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related discipline is required.
