Job Title: Assistant Professor, Exercise Science
The Department of Kinesiology in Jacksonville State University's College of Health Professions and Wellness invites applications for an Assistant Professor position.
The Exercise Science Assistant Professor provides educational services to traditional and non-traditional students, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Exercise Science. This may include teaching on campus, off-campus, online courses, and videoconferencing depending on need.
Jacksonville State University's College of Health Professions and Wellness was established to deliver a top-quality education for 21st-century professionals promoting health and wellness globally. The departments of nursing, respiratory therapy, and kinesiology have developed undergraduate and graduate programs using evidence-based practices.
Position Requirements
- Earned doctorate in Exercise Science or closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates near completion will be considered)
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the university level
- Evidence of a promising research agenda and scholarly publications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment
Preference may be given to those with experience in COAES processes and standards, industry and academic experience in exercise science, expertise in areas like exercise physiology, biomechanics, human performance, or strength & conditioning, and experience with online course delivery.
