Job Description
The Department of Marketing, Industrial Distribution and Economics (MIDE) within the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks applicants for a tenure track assistant professor position in economics to begin fall of 2025. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching principles and upper division economics courses. The economics group is actively engaged in research intended to result in high quality journal publications, predominantly in the applied microeconomics fields of labor, health, education, public policy and law. We are particularly interested in applicants who will fit into this environment.
Required Qualifications
Applicants for this position should : (1) hold a PhD in economics by Fall of 2025; (2) have a commitment to teaching excellence and value high quality research; and (3) a general interest in applied microeconomics-particularly the fields of labor, health, education, public policy and law; and (4) please provide three letters of recommendation. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV and job market paper.
