Normal Work Schedule: Varies. Some events are on weekends and after hours.
Job Summary: The Research Assistant III assists with research work in support of a major research project under minimal supervision. Orders equipment and supplies. Sets up equipment. Performs experiments. Monitors results. Collects data. Prepares support material. May supervise students or other support workers assigned to the research project.
Additional Department Summary: Responsible for conducting and assisting with the design of research experiments, managing IRB applications, participant recruitment and scheduling, data acquisition and analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Renewal of position is contingent upon funding.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends to accommodate participant and/or project schedules.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Computer proficiency is essential. Experience programming is useful but not required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferably in psychology or neuroscience. Experience working with human subjects preferred. Experience with psychological assessments and working with individuals with psychosis, substance use disorders, or dementia and stroke.
