Academic Physicians - Pediatric Nephrology
The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nephrology, and Comer Children’s Hospital seek full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will have experience in the care of all forms of kidney disease in children and will have experience in caring for children with End Stage Renal Disease. Appointees will be expected to participate in patient care at both Comer Children’s Hospital and the Section’s offsite locations in the Chicago area. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. Comer Children’s Hospital is a full service children’s hospital located in the heart of the city of Chicago. The University of Chicago Department of Pediatrics is committed to providing superior, compassionate healthcare to all children. We strive to provide an education and training experience that fosters the next generation of national and international leaders in child health. The department includes more than 130 full time faculty members, clinical associates, and postdoctoral researchers. Opportunities abound for participation in clinical research, clinical trials, systematic local and / or national quality improvement projects, and other scholarly activities.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must : 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology or equivalent, and 4) have participated in prior clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research.
