Job Summary

The Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and Admissions is a highly visible role that works cross-functionally within Chicago Booth and maintains key strategic partnerships for the Office of Admissions. The Associate Director develops and sustains relationships with internal and external partners and coordinates all facets of the prospective and admitted student experience for underrepresented candidates applying for the Full-Time MBA program.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads execution of recruiting strategy focused on diverse and underrepresented populations applying to the Full-Time MBA program.
  • Serves as liaison with key partner organizations including, but not limited to, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, and the Forte Foundation. Works to identify opportunities for new partnerships with organizations supporting diversity in graduate management education.
  • Coordinates and participates in specific recruiting events encouraging diverse populations to apply for MBA programs, including in-person and virtual events planned by Booth Admissions, as well as events with partner organizations and peer schools.
  • Serves as main point-of-contact for prospective students applying to Booth through affiliation with key partner organizations.
  • Liaise with the Director of Student Diversity and Inclusion at Chicago Booth on initiatives to support prospective and current students.
  • Works closely with affinity student groups to plan prospective student programming and admitted student yield initiatives.
  • Serves as an integral member of the Admissions Committee. Conducts student recruitment, evaluation, and yield activities. Duties include reading and evaluating applications; traveling domestically and internationally; and attending and hosting various recruiting and yield events.
  • Expands outreach messaging via alumni clubs and special events and / or reunions. Maintains updated alumni contact records and cultivates new contacts in appropriate industries. Manages portfolio of prospective students that require special handling.
  • Manages regional event programming such as receptions and career trek field trips for students. Works independently to expand outreach to employers in the region.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Education : Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

    Work Experience : Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience :

  • A minimum four years of admissions or recruitment experience, and / or experience with diversity outreach and recruitment. Relevant industries and functions include higher education, human resources, recruiting and / or talent acquisition.
  • Technical Skills or Knowledge :

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google applications (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
  • Familiarity with Slate CRM tool and Zoom functionality.
  • Preferred Competencies

  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven record of successful and effective relationship-building with internal and external constituents.
  • Professional demeanor including tact, discretion, and a customer service oriented approach.
  • Proven record of successful time management and organizational skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines, and possession of a self-motivated disposition.
  • Critical thinking skills and identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes to achieve key objectives.
  • Work both independently and successfully as a member of a team.
  • Working Conditions

  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Work non-standard hours, such as nights and weekends, when needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally.
