Position Summary
Career Interest : The Scope Specialist, an unlicensed staff member, under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager, primary task is the reprocessing of endoscopes utilized in the operating room and ancillary areas according to regulatory standards and appropriate internal standards. The Scope Specialist may also float to any of our Sterile Processing Departments based on the needs of the department. The Scope Specialist will assist with in-servicing of staff, precept employees, transportation of instrumentations / scopes, and additional job duties as required. Additionally, the Scope Specialist is responsible for assisting in traditional Sterile Processing technician responsibilities including reprocessing instrumentation, stocking unit supplies, and maintaining a clean functional work environment. Always exhibits excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills related to delegated tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Is self-directed and proactive in performing a variety of tasks as indicated in his / her role. Will complete competencies for all Sterile Processing related responsibilities and High-Level Disinfection (HLD).
