Job Summary
The purpose of the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning job is to ensure University assets are protected through adherence to applicable external and internal regulations and appropriate external representation of ULM Athletics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning in the coordination, development, and implementation of a successful strength and conditioning program for the ULM Athletic Department, a NCAA Division I Athletic Program
- 75% - Provide proper and safe instruction in equipment usage, speed development, and evaluation of student-athletes year-round and will work with individual sport staffs on sport specific drills and techniques to continue to improve the student-athlete's preparedness for success on the field/court/course.
- 25% - Provide supervision and monitor activities of two graduate assistants and student worker personnel, nutrition education, tracking and ordering of all nutritional supplements, track body weight and heights for football
- Have and maintain a thorough knowledge and commitment to compliance with all NCAA and Sun Belt Conference rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in related field such as kinesiology, exercise physiology, or exercise science; master's degree preferred; collegiate coaching experience preferred
- Two-year minimum experience at the college level – DI, DII, and/or DIII
- CSC, CSCCA, and/or USAW certification
- Previous experience with Olympic sports, basketball, collegiate football, and female athletes
- Background in nutrition
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of communication and marketing best practices
- Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and details effectively
- Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of constituencies
- Must maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA, Sun Belt, and ULM rules and regulations
- Ability to meet established deadlines
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
