Job Description
General Summary
The Directory of IT Service Delivery is responsible for advancement of a large-scale, enterprise-class portfolio of projects for UMMS. This Director will manage the University Of MD Medical System’s Service Delivery Team. They will be responsible for the delivery of multidisciplinary projects, including, but not limited to : developing and implementing a modern messaging and collaboration platform, identity management system, telework tools and technologies, and an enterprise cloud strategy. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead complex IT modernization projects for large healthcare systems with quantifiable results of growth, increased customer satisfaction, and mission alignment.
The Director ensures outcomes that conform to the University of MD Medical System’s mission, values, and strategies and networks with business partners, vendors, and independent consultants to remain current with industry and technology developments.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by this Director.
- Work directly with Hospital and IT leadership to develop, implement, and maintain the UMMS user experience strategy : including, messaging, collaboration, productivity tools (ie. Microsoft O365, etc), telework, etc.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise cloud services strategy for the hospital system to increase datacenter redundancy, application availability, security, and overall service performance.
- Provide strategy and direction for other enterprise-level technology solutions, including, but not limited to : Identity & Access Management service, videoconferencing, Information Security initiatives, etc.
- Create and manage RFPs for all technologies and corresponding implementation services
- Manage all staff, consultants, and other project resources for efficient and timely project delivery while staying within budget.
- Develop and manage contracts for all technologies and implementation services and present to senior management for migration into operation’s budgets.
- Work with project teams to maintain effective communication strategies during planning and implementation phases of projects and migration to operations
- Build and maintain program status reports for hospital system leadership.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all technologies and services for presentation to operations teams and senior leadership.
- Establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers
- Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures
