The Health Economist (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) for the Center for Public Health Informatics, Data, Equity, Analytics and Systems will use best practices to analyze data and to make data-based assessments regarding the proper integration of economic healthcare data and allocation of resources related to the various public health programs. This is a non-tenure track faculty position .
The Primary Tasks Will Be To
Master’s Degree in Health Care Policy, Economics or other related field and at least five years of related experience.
Special Conditions
PhD in Economics, Health Care Policy, or other related field and at least two years of related experience.
This is a grant-funded position contingent upon funding availability.

This is a non-tenure track faculty position .
The Primary Tasks Will Be To
- Evaluate the cost benefits of any changes in public health policies
- Develop program objectives, strategies, and study methods on health care.
- Design and execute research studies to guide effective use of information and resources.
- Direct plans to calculate various costs related to health care.
- Utilize research programs on health economic topics.
- Suggest health outcomes for treatment and prevention of health issues.
- Evaluate current and proposed strategies and interpret findings.
- Effectively provide guidance on allocation and deployment of resources including people, activities, projects, and investment
- Communicate economic assessment results to appropriate internal audiences.
- Develop and execute health economic issues and methods to reduce cost.
- Perform economic analysis and model plans for health department programs.
- Communicate and distribute academic literature, presentations, and reports on research findings to update about new issues, solutions, and other topics.
- Ensure which approaches are best effective to enhance population health outcomes to all individuals in an efficient and effective way.
- Provide lectures or educational sessions to educate about health economics.
- Manage budget and cost estimates according to plans.
- Analyze, prepare, and distribute reports as requested by the Primary Investigator
- Teach one to two class each academic year related to health economics, healthcare financing, economic evaluations, Health technology assessment.
