Department Summary
The Division of Outreach Office of Marketing and Communication is a national award-winning team of higher education marketing professionals dedicated to promoting the unique and innovative programs offered through Outreach departments. We value audience perspective to inform data-driven development of strategic marketing initiatives that showcase the talents of our creative team members.
The Manager of Marketing & Communication will work with department leadership and peers as well as faculty across campus to support Ole Miss-Online enrollment goals by managing and coordinating all elements of the Ole Miss-Online strategic marketing plan. This includes assisting in planning campaigns, managing marketing budgets, analyzing data, and coordinating with creative team members to complete projects on time and at the highest possible quality.
Members of the marketing team work both collaboratively and independently, as project assignments require. We also value the voice of all team members, scheduling routine one-on-one meetings with leadership for all members as well as weekly staff meetings and quarterly team retreats to discuss project assignments, review team processes and professional goals, and elevate our individual and team performance.

Role Summary
Develops and drafts communication content and supports the unit's communication goals.
Plan, develop, direct, implement, and evaluate marketing programs and strategy. Manage and provide expertise on advertising media, informational campaigns, business strategy, brand management, outreach, market research, and consumer insights. Promote activities, events, products, and services to engage audiences to take action.
Examples of Work Performed
Creating comprehensive marketing plans aligned with business objectives, identifying target audiences, and developing strategies across various channels like digital, social media, print, and events.
Overseeing the development and execution of marketing campaigns, including content creation, media buying, and promotional activities.
Managing marketing budgets, allocating funds across different campaigns, and tracking ROI.
Leading and motivating a team of marketing professionals, including designers, copywriters, social media specialists, and analysts.
Conducting market research to understand customer trends, competitor analysis, and identify new opportunities.
Protecting and enhancing the company's brand image through consistent messaging and positioning across all marketing materials.
Monitoring and analyzing marketing campaign performance using key metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies.
Gathering customer feedback and using insights to inform marketing decisions.
Working cross-functionally with other departments to align marketing efforts.
Presenting regular marketing performance reports to senior management, including key insights and recommendations.
Essential Functions

6. Consults with internal and external stakeholders on editorial matters to ensure accuracy.
7. Assists in creating and implementing communication campaigns that align with work unit or program strategies.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: (3) Three years Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (business, marketing, integrated marketing communications, etc.), 5 years of professional experience including management of multi-strategy marketing campaigns.
