Role Summary
The Marketing Specialist for the Department of Student Housing is a temporary, full-time position responsible for supporting the Assistant Director of Marketing in executing marketing, communication, and logistical initiatives. This role will focus primarily on Housing's involvement in Orientation and the planning and implementation of Move-In 2025. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will co-supervise a team of up to 14 undergraduate Marketing Assistants.
The position requires direct engagement with incoming students and their families, both in person and through digital platforms, to address inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure an exceptional customer service experience.
Examples of Work Performed
- Create and monitor a work schedule for student workers, including shifts and team meetings
- Monitor assist with the main departmental emails and phone lines
- Ensure all tour spaces are well maintained and stocked with promotional items
- Serve as a liaison between the department and both on-campus and external partners
- Provide exceptional customer service to incoming students and their families
- Monitor and organize any potential outreach events for the department
- Assist in developing all communication sent to students regarding Move-In 2025
- Assist in purchasing items needed for tours, Orientation, and Move-In 2025
- Ensure the department upholds university brand standards
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
- Drafts meeting notes and prepares materials including updated project benchmarks and research information to support marketing projects, campaigns, and work unit personnel.
- Summarizes market tracking and research data from distributed market surveys.
- Assists in developing creative marketing strategies and multimedia campaigns by creating and distributing draft materials to a variety of project participants.
- Ensures promotional materials are maintained.
- Modifies materials as directed by professional staff.
- Schedules meetings of project stakeholders, including external vendors as required to maintain project timelines and responds to initial questions.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
Preferred Qualifications
This position should have at least one (1) year of customer service experience. In addition, they should have at least one (1) year of student supervision experience OR paraprofessional experience.

Salary : $42,640 - $63,981
